Employment Law Update 2020

News on 23 March 2020

There are some significant changes in employment law from April 2020 that will affect all UK businesses.

However, the Coronvirus global pandemic has meant that many businesses can almost be forgiven for not noticing when these changes come into force.

Already the Government has announced that the planned change for IR35 will be delayed by a year.

The following changes are still going ahead:

  • Increase in National Minimum Wage
  • Pay reference periods and holiday pay calculations for variable pay workers
  • Contract of employment as a day one right
  • Parental Bereavement Rights
